Overseas Shipping and Supposedly UPS Problems

I just read something where some overseas businesses are dropping UPS and going with DSL. They claim UPS is charging higher rates and deliveries are slowed down due to customs holding UPS orders up, for some reason, longer before releasing them. Depending on what the items are, days and weeks! Customs now holds bearing shipments up due to the confusion on US tax rate on bearings, 4% or 8%. Never heard that before, but I understand that we have a Federal tax on overseas bearings coming into this country. Seems like the faster we go, the behinder we get! :rolleyes: PJ
 
The shipments I get are coded for Vintage auto parts so they are charged the lower rate. I have the code in my phone but it got wet yesterday and no longer turns on. I have received from DHL, they are just about like UPS, Not as consistent on timing but nice. They called me one time when I was not home, since the packages have to be signed for, and I told them I would not be home for two days. They nicely said they would be back in 3 days for the delivery.

Take the battery out and put it in the frige or a bag of uncooked rice or both.
 
I thought DHL stopped deliveries to United States addresses some years ago. Think they turn over packages destined for the U.S. to either the USPS or UPS for final delivery. Am I wrong?

I don't know Jay, I get all my delivery's from UPS and Fedex. I have no problem with either. Once in a while a USPS package will take longer, but that could be because I live in a fairly remote area. In the sticks in other words! PJ
