Overrider bolts

Can someone point me to a source for the bolts that go with the "rubber tip" '71-'74 style overriders for the MGB?

I have a set of overriders, and two of them have the bolts bent at almost a 90-degree angle. These are not off-the-shelf bolts. They have a head designed specifically to fit the mounting location in the overrider.

I can remove the bolts by taking off the rubber bits, but I don't see any replacements available on any of the usual parts sites.

I can't even find a part number, because they don't show them as separate parts.

How can I find replacements for these bolts?

Are you sure the bolts are supposed to be bent? Looking at Moss pics the bolts don't appear to be strange, even appears to be same bolt for rubber tipped overriders as chrome. runs from back side of bumper, throgh spring and bumper, screwing into nut placed inside overrider. 3/8" x 2" UNF I even checked Moss-Europe. Or are you instead looking for bolts that hold rubber buffer to chrome overrider? No, you said you could access the bolts after removing rubbers. Give us a pic or two.

I didn't mean that the bolts were supposed to be bent.

I need to replace the bent ones.

Also, the rubber/chrome overriders do not use the same bolts as the all-chrome ones. The eralier style had a nut fixed to the overrider. The later style has the bolt fixed to the overrider. With these, you need to secure them with a nut, from behind the bumper bracket.

The catalogs can be confusing, since they don't show the bolts for the later units.

I forgot, do the over riders have square holes in them? If so, Look for plated carriage bolts of the proper size. Most good hardware stores should have them. Might work.

No, the holes, and the lug below the bolt head are oval shaped.

Also, the head is smaller and "shallower" than the head of a carriage bolt.

I'll try to post pictures this afternoon.

The best and worst of the four overrider bolts. I bead-blasted the lower one, the only straight one of the four.

Ok, now I remember what they look like. I Have them on the 72. I would think that someone should have a couple of bolts from some damaged over riders they've replaced. If all else fails, the bolts can be straightened with a little heat, blasted and coated. It's not as if their exposed to view. Just a suggestion.

I made my own by buying stainless carriage bolts at the Home Depot and grinding the domed heads flat to fit.

Heck, I'd just straighten them. It'd be a lot less hassle than modifying replacements. Do you have a torch? If not, you needed one anyway.

Home Depot is where I got mine too. Just don't ask anyone where they are, it is easier looking for yourself.
