We had a good time at Triumphest. Thanks to the San Diego people!!! Unfortunately the Spitfire broke a water pump Thursday night. Many people offered help, tools, and hardware. One didn't leak but made a terrible noise. We replaced it with one that leaked a bit but at least it was quiet. That one got us around town. Then we installed one that didn't leak or make noise and we were on the way home. Once under way, we started to smell coolant. Interestingly it was after long up and down on I8 west of El Centro. The temperature gauge did not indicate over heating but there was coolant squirting out some orafice. We put some Bars Stop Leak and the drip from the twenty year old water pump stopped, but the coolant came from somewhere. Finally we ran from north of Gila Bend, Arizona to east of Phoenix with just one hint of coolant aroma but no leak. I wonder what was going on. there doesn't seem to be any leak now that we're home. Ideas anyone. Help me Obi-wan you're my only hope. T.T.
