Overheating/oil up-date

Well, I finally got around to figuring out what was wrong with my Mini. There was alot of pressure being built up and pushing the oil out of the car. and here is why: #4 cyl= 130
#3 cyl = 109 #2 cyl= 30 & #1 cyl = 90. At some point in my travels I lost the rings in #2 and possibly #1. But all is not lost, as I now have a new (used) 1275 sitting at the house waiting to be dropped in place. So in the end the story will have a happy ending as I will be getting a boost from the 998 that presently resides in the bay!!

Re: Overheating/oil up-date

I hope you do a compression and leakdown test on that 1275 before you put it in the car..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Overheating/oil up-date

Yep. the plan is to rebuild the original engine and keep it as a spare. and yes I will do a compression/leak down on the 1275 as well!
