Overdrive

Hi all

I don't think the 1500 Midget was available with overdrive,Yet in the Moss book the wiper switch for 75-77 is listed as a Wiper/OD unit.
Anybody know what gives there?

Secondly I recall seeing somewhere how a spitfire od tranny was swapped into a Midget. Has
anybody here done that swap? If so how difficult is it? How much does it lower your RPM's

Thirdly, I have 175R 13's on my car how inaccurate is my speedometer and in which direction?

TIA for any help
and Happy New Year to all
Thanks to Basil for the Spridget Group!

If your looking for a higher gearing. You might try changing the rear diff gears. I went from a (10/39 tooth) 3:90 gear to a (11/39 tooth) 3:55 gear. This should lower the RPMs a bit on the highway. I got the gears on sale a couple years ago from Vicky Brit, but I am also doing a 5 speed swap and everything else at the same time so I don't know what It will be like in the end. The 210 1st gear is supposed to be a little lower so this should offset the higher final drive at take off. I may end up driving it in 4th gear more than 5th if its too high.
