I have recently solved an overdrive problem and would appreciate a comment from the experts!
I needed to replace the Accumulator so ordered parts from a trusted UK supplier. The parts arrived promptly but had to be modified to make the O/D operate. My Healey is a 1954 BN1 which needed two o-rings on the accululator housing. I was advised by the supplier that the replacement parts had only one o-ring groove as the second o-ring was deleted by BMC later in the production run because it was redundant. My overdrive would not raise any pressure until a second groove was machined and the unit re-assembled with two o-rings fitted. Now it works perfectly as has excellent pressure readings.
