MGA Overdrive in a MGA

Has anyone ever put a later model overdrive trans in a MGA. I have a 59 that has been converted. It has the late style synch trans mount. Thinking it would be pretty nice to have an overdrive trans in a MGA. Is there room to put in in there.

I have done it. Its real tight at the shift tunnel. A bit of cutting and splicing was done to make it fit. Still tight in there. Also tight at the top 2 trans to engine bolts. I modified the trans and top 2 bolts for clearance. That was over 30 years ago so its not fresh in my mind! Bob

It is easier to put the early non synchro OD trans in there, but it still requires some modifications. The more popular conversion is a T-9 5 speed.
