About two weeks ago, fire broke out in broad daylight at our local Walmart. There were apparently 3 fires set in three different parts of the store simultaneously. The store has been closed until today, but it's now only partially open. I've heard there are "persons of interest" but as far as I know there have been no arrests.
They have moved groceries to the front part of the store with 90% of the store blocked off with large heavy plastic sheets while they do renovations. We went there today and the smell of smoke was still very strong. Here's a picture of one of the fires as it was just starting (in the paper towel, toilet paper section). This was taken by a neighbor who was there when the fires broke out. Two other fires started about the same time in the sporting goods section and the restrooms. I sure hope they arrest the culprit(s).
