The drive home from the in-laws place was a little exciting. A good winter storm hit Utah, so it took about twice the normal time home. We were in my Honda Fit (with good snow tires), so it was uneventful if slow. Then we hit our street...
My area had gotten 13"+ of snow since we left on Christmas Eve, and the street had not been plowed at all. So down the hill we went, in my little car with just a couple inches of ground clearance. All was fine until we hit the end of our driveway. I didn't want to stop in the street, so it was banzai into the driveway. We made it about one car length in, just enough to be out of the way.
We were just pushing way too much snow. The car wasn't so much stuck as it was stopped. Snow tires don't help when the snow is above the bottoms of the doors -- I guess the Fit isn't a good choice for a snow plow.
A couple hours of shoveling/snowblowing/roof clearing and all was well again.
