Otter Switch

The otter switch on my '69 E-Type appears to be faulty - it is permanently "on".

What are my options?

Hi Andy ... Thanks for the link. I think I'll go with a cool cat replacement.

Now, I wonder if I can manage to remove the old switch without taking the bonnet off?! Access right now is via a contortion in the wheel well!

Yes, I'm playing ... Spent some time tarting up the bonnet mouth, fitting seals on the bumpers, adding reverse lights, fixing multiple wiring issues, recovering the dash, replacing the battery tray, fiddling with the throttle linkage (no joy there yet), getting the wipers and washer to work, replacing a couple of hoses etc..

I'm puzzling over seat belts ... There are none fitted. I'd like three point belts for the front seats, but all the modern types I'm seeing have one too many mounting points required. In fact they are technically four point belts, one at the tunnel, then three at the other side.

Be sure to keep the Cool Kat link. He has solutions to a lot of other future problems you may face - cooling fans, aluminum radiators, temp. sending units, etc.

Phil.

E-Type Seatbelts was Re: Otter Switch

Thanks Andy. The Moss ones look ideal, but the price is eye-watering! I wish the SNGB ones were photographed in their entirety, rather than just the buckle ...

These ones from Westco look good, if vintage appearance is unimportant:

I just wonder if the rigid piece would fit and work. I'm not sure why these flavour of seatbelts aren't more common.
