OT - If you've been feeling stupid lately...

…you’ll feel better after this.

Have a bumper to make which has been fighting me, long story, but on #2 I decide to start this evening, since the wife and kids are out of my hair.

I’m working in my garage, doors up, fan on, not too bad. As the work progresses, it’s getting hotter, turn the fan on high. Now realize that it’s near 90, humidity nearly 85%, but felt cooler because I worked in a metal shop all day welding and grinding railing, another long story.

If you’ve worked with fiberglass (even with bondo), you might remember that as it gets hotter and more humid, the faster the resin sets. Well, I’m still oblivious to the temp and humidity; I just know I’m sweating like a pig in August.

All done, after fighting fiberglass for 2 hours, step into the basement and its’ a cool and dry 74 degrees.

Here’s the stupid part. Why didn’t I just close the garage doors; open the door to the basement and place the fan there. Geez. Please tell me someone out there has done something like that!

Looks like I get to make #3 tomorrow MORNING when it’s cool.

At least I got the old brake lines off the truck this evening! After bumper #3 and the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, I get to come home and put new ones on. Does anybody want to bring come help, I’ll supply the beer or whiskey, whatever you like!

heh... our basement in Sewickley was always the preferred "engine rebuild" area... even in winter! Many a twin-cam was assembled there.

Mount an exhaust fan or two inna basement?!?!
