We're planning a trip and wanted to ask if anyone had any comments on the route. Planning to take the MGB from Nazareth, PA to Schenectady, NY to visit friends, then on to Seneca Falls, NY for a little R&R in the Finger Lakes region.

Here's a URL linked to my first shot at a route. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. Would like to favor scenic roads and non-highway where possible:

Best regards,
Marty

Marty,
It's a great ride for sure, but 20 can be a drag in farming season, perhaps there's a parallel road to consider.20 also has speed traps. At any rate I'd continue on to Geneva, then south between the big lakes, can't miss Watkin's Glen when you're that close can you? You might enjoy Skaneateles on the northen tip of Cayuga Lake (skanny-at-eh-less), nice setting cute shops. 96 is a great ride too. Ithaca has the great gorges and excellent restaurants.
Cheers,
Mike

Hey, I'll be about 90 miles north of you in Watertown for the next 2 weeks!

You do not say when your are going, but I'd be sure to at least visit Watkins Glen if it is open (the Zippo event is highly recommended).

Their schedule is:

You can also visit the Motorsports Museum in town and I would recommend driving the old, street circuit at least once just to see what it's like.

I'd stop in for lunch of dinner at the Seneca Lodge too....many famous F1 racers and other racers have eaten there and there's a fair amount of racing stuff inside.

There's a nearby aviation museum that's good too (I forget the name)

Aloha Marty,

I'll second or perhaps third the suggestion to return via Watkins Glen. On the leg between Schenectady and Seneca Falls you may want to swing down through Cooperstown which has more to offer than the Baseball Hall of Fame. Although those roads are either state or county roads, they will probably have less traffic and be as scenic or more so than US 20.
