I was lucky enough to get up close and personal with the Bullitt car during its press reveal at Mecum in Monterey last year. That's me with the arrow pointing to my head. That car really is beat. If I had my say, it would be restored back to the same condition it was in the movie, otherwise it looks like something we would've paid $2.500 for in 1975.

As it is it's pretty much original, some drive-train components have been restored and I believe the engine and drive train has had a face lift, but everything else is original as of date of sellers purchase, or so I'm told. Taking it back to the date of the movie means total restoration and would ruin the cars originality, the value and/or collectability would drop considerably! Best put it behind glass and leave it as is. Steve's DNA is probably still somewhere in that car!
