original radio 1961 e series jaguar

I agree - most (if not all) were dealer installed. Mine has a Becker but then it was delivered to Germany. Motorola and Bendix were possibly the most common brands among US dealers at that time.
 
Seen the Motorola with chrome face, and white dial face, AM only, no push buttons, face illuminated in on position, US dealer installed unit, some with built in speaker, some with console jag speaker instead, really tinny sounding radio, but that was then,
