T-Series Original Price in US Dollars for an MG TF 1500

John Christy and Karl Ludvigsen's book, The Complete MG Guide, Model by Model (2nd Edition) states the following for the TF-1500: "MG TF-1500's started coming through in time to be 1954 Christmas gifts, and they were indeed the answer to many prayers - especially with a fresh $1995 price tag." (p. 35) Published by Tab Books, Inc., Blue Ridge Summit PA, 1980.

Mickey, I would have to dispute the $1995.00 price tag in your book for a TF. Here's a TD with a $2115.00 advertised price and to my knowledge, the TFs were a higher price, I think, but not sure, $2295.00 for a 54 seems to ring a bell


 
Actually, in my research I read that the TF was priced lower than the TD.

I have also found period books that state prices of $1540 and $2350 for a TF, but I'm not believing either. I'll go with $1995.

Mickey, Sorry my bad, but you might be right on the TF price. I have a request off to the TF register for conformation. I have found prices from 1995.00 to 2395.00 for a new 1500 ? PJ
