TR2/3/3A Original Paint on TR3 Brake Drums

Can someone tell me if the original black paint on TR3 brake drums covered the entire face of the drum including the area around the holes, or did the paint just cover the outer few inches leaving the area covered by the splined hubs bare metal. Thank you.

While I guess anything is possible I believe it would be unlikely that the drums would remain unpainted untill they were mounted on the car........and then had the hubs taped off to paint. Would be my guess they are painted underneath the hubs. I don't think anyone is going to remove a hub to prove authenticity even if they were, however.
