Orientation of sender in fuel tank

Which way does the sender go in a bugeye fuel tank? I didn't make note when I took mine apart. Does the float go to the front, rear, driver or passenger side. At rest it probably doesn't make a difference, but on the road it might.

I can't remember if it's to the left/right or back. What I can remember is that it's pretty obvious that it can only go one way. You'll see when you look at it... (IIRC there's even a depression in the bottom of the tank)

You're right it's obvious. I just looked at it from the top and thought, "this can go any way, which way does it go". Had I been smart enough to look at the bottom I would have seen the depression, and, had I been smart enough to test fit in the hole, I would have seen the float hits the baffles on the side and the tank on the front. Thanks for turning on the light for me.
