Ordered Technical CD

I've found what is described as a series of Factory service manuals for several models in CD format, mine in particular.
I'm posting this before I've received the software so if someone know's I've bought a "pig innna poke", I'd rather see the end of the movie for myself.
But............ that being said, this sounds ideal, if the product I've ordered is not the quality I'm looking for, has anyone else come across software of this nature.
Starting to warm up around here, may take the battery outside and fire Ole Ruby up, or probably just check Tyre pressure.

Winston,

I believe the CD you ordered is the factory manual in PDF format. I also bought the CD off ebay and was dissapointed to find that if I searched around the internet the manual was out there for free... oh well.

so do they come in some sort of proprietary format or straight PDF Files ???

Are they text searchable or are they just images of the pages?

Jim,
They are PDF files. There are I believe about 15 manuals on the CD, everything from Competition tuning to SAH preparation.
The TR4&4A manual is 404 pages, and is comparable to a Chiltons. IMOHO.

So can you search on the text or select text? (open with acrobat and try using the text selection tool - if you can't then they are big images of the page and not true text documents) Most of the ones I've seen are image scans and it would be nice to be able to search for a specific keyword.

also.

Where did you get them?
