Ooops, how not to remove calipers

Ok so I'll confess starting my front end rebuild yesterday and even though I've had calipers on and off of Bugsy numerous times I started to take things apart and went from the front instead of the rear and took the two bolts out of the calipers and started to move when I realized I had brake fluid coming out. Duhh stupid me had separated the caliper halves. I pushed back into place and retightened down. Things never really came apart just started leaking fluid but I know separating caliper halves is supposed to be a no no and Frank replaces O rings all the time.

So did I really screw up and need to take them back apart at this point. Not sure how the O Ring is held in place, size, etc. Going to be a few weeks before all is back together. Advise or ideas anyone?

Separating calipers is not a no no - a bit of a pain when there is fluid in but that is it. I separated mine to rebuild and all was good. The O-ring (which is more of a rubber washer) just lies in the space for it. I suppose there is a tiny chance you would have to replace the washer but I doubt it. Just retorque and repair, nothing happening here folks, move on.

PS 80 f/lbs torque

I did the same thing 4 years ago. I had just bought my Bugeye and installed new rotors and pads. I split the caliper, saw the fluid pour out and immediately tightened them back up. It's been 4 years and no ill effects. I think you should be OK.

Thanks guys. All went right back together. I'd describe it as the halves started to slide vertically apart. Bolts went back in just fine. Will put the torque wrench on it when I finish putting it all back together.

Back left bolt holding the wishbone on is frozen in the bushing. Going to need to get the sawzall put to finish taking apart the DS. Will be curious to see of fulcrum pin is loose in the bushings and frozen. The DS is the one that clunks and shudders when hitting sewer lid. Not bearings as I replaced with a NOS set a year or so ago.
