I'm heading to the market, running Emma about 30 minutes, then taking her down to the proctologist.

I have a bad feeling about this.

I don't think she is wearing the $9.45 Gold Pumps to the testing facillity Doc.
Actually.. She would be sure the car would pass then. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

GOOD LUCK!!!! Better late than never...I am getting worried though...it is going on 6 hours and no word...the suspense is killing me!

Drum roll, please.............

I think Emma passed her test.

How so unlike her to post in this length of time.

Since her "I'm leaving" post was at 12:18, and the one with just the "thud" emoticon was at 4:12, I think we have the answer....and not the one we wanted.....

Been busy, til the season and all that bunk!

She passed. I nearly kissed the guy I was so relieved. They didn't just do the tailpipe thing, they put her on the machine, ran her up to speed, did the whole bit.

HC standards 700 = her reading 640
CO standards 7.0 = her reading 5.7

"Congratulations! Your vehicle meets Illinois emission testing standards. Please note your new test date (12/07) After 12/31/2003, second-chance exhaust testing is no longer available for vehicles failing the OBD test.

Hotdamned and hallelujah! And you guys were all worried. I knew all along she'd pass...

FYI I don't have a clue what any of those readings mean, but I really could care less! I'm chuffed as little mint balls.

Now, off to a hair cut and dye job. I'm in the mood to do something drastic!

sounds like you should buy your meckanik a beer.

Boy, glad that's over. I could not bear the suspense.

Hooray!!!
I'm am sooo happy for you and Emma! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That is odd that they would have put Emma on the dyno.
This is right from the Illinois EPA web site;
Q. What kind of test is used?
A. Three types of tests are used. In July 2002, an On Board Diagnostic Test (OBD) replaced the traditional exhaust emissions test for most 1996 and newer passenger cars and light duty trucks (including vans and sports Utility vehicles.) An IM240 test is used for most 1981-1995 vehicles and a basic Idle test for 1968-1980 vehicles.

So according to their own rules they were only supposed to do the idle test.
I hope the monkey that drove Emma knew how to handle her better than the one who destroyed my trans!

Anyway,
Great news! Congratulations! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I think the haircut, dye, 4" stilletto's, & new hooters will be a present for her specal mechanic!
