Online building cost estimator?

Randall - that is excellent advice. Thanks.

I remember my next door neighbor having his new house built several years ago. He was there almost every day checking details. The short cuts and mis-representation he found were astounding. Even discovered the furnace was installed *backwards*, the chimney was off center and cut through the wooden deck, the oak stairs were made of pine, indoor conduit and cable was used outdoors, and on and on.

I've been known to ask too many questions (what? me? ask questions? check details? question authority?).

As they say, there are known knowns. There are known unknowns. But the unknown unknowns will get you every time.

I tend to ask a lot of questions too when I have a construction project done. Saves a lot of headaches later on.
