I didn't have a whole ton of work to do.,

so, I called Mark (Abarth69) and away we went.

First down the 401 (my those trucks are big) to Milton to Legendary Motorcar (https://www.legendarymotorcar.com/site/) had a nice walk around. Only LBC I saw was a Jag XK120 but there were about 1/2 a dozen real Cobras which sort of count and a very odd Karman Ghia. Please notice which car has the top down and which doesn't. (Though if you had seen the sky you would know why I was putting my top up)

Then a quick trip through Milton which stopped only long enough to figure out why smoke was coming out from under the bonnet. Turns out it was gas dripping from the bottom of the carb onto the catalytic converter. Ah well, at least I'm not polluting the ground as the gas is burning off and there are no flames so, onward and outward, we'll worry about that later. Straight up the escarpment (the same piece of rock Niagara Falls flows over) and on the Rattlesnake Point. (https://www.hrca.on.ca/ShowCategory.cfm?subCatID=1091) Talked the young lady at the gate into letting us in for free to take pictures. and got some.

and finally,

Then back in the car, down the winding road, back through Milton and head towards home. At this point I am really happy I'd put up the top as it started to hail. Then the hail turned to rain, though more of a sun shower than anything else. The top performed flawlessly, not leaks, nice and cozy actually even good heat. All in all a GREAT day was had by all.

Oh and, Mark had judiciously modded his engine, bored, cam and monza exhaust. Most of the trip he was in the lead and what a lovely sound that car makes. And check out his new rims!

Yep

JP is dripping gas onto the exhaust system and pulls into dry leaves up to the axles. Lucky we did not start a forest fire.

Great day

Cheers

Mark

Your leaves look like mine!
(I just bought a new leaf-blower.....I've got leaves on my mind :jester: )

A few years ago, Linda and I were driving up the 401 in a Canadian rental car and I said:
"Look! We're doing 100!"
She got all excited until she realized it was kilometers.

I just did brake hydraulics on my MGB and hope to take it out a few more times before it gets put away.
We still expect to have an "Indian Summer" here.

Is the red car a 1275?

Oh yeah, when you said that Karmann-Ghia was odd, was it a ~Type 34 Ghia~ ?

Hi Nial

It my wife's car a 1966 with a 1275 bore out 60 its her rat rod. I have put the big Healey away roll up windows and a heater really help in this weather.

Mark

Fantastic pics! It's great you two were able to get out and enjoy. It was a beautiful day here in the South. Wish I'd had time to go for a spin in Midgie. I took the day off to catch up on 2 months of backlogged yard work.

Are those Superlite wheels on the red car? Is that what I believe called Anthracite or charcoal? I've wanted a set for Midgie.

Hey Mark JP I was home all day, should have come by for a beverage. I am ten mins from rattlesnake.
Mark I would love to compare sprites with you, we need to have a drag race.
Cheers Phil

and Mark was having a smoke - ahh the wonders of pyromania.

The Ghia was odd because of the paint job and interior. It had odd stripes and - Mark was it green or purple - with white and all the chrome was painted white - just goofy

Mark,
I would love to be there next week, I will be in Vancouver, home Friday night.Work does get in the way, off all this week spending my week in my garage, my new heater is working great.
My Sprite needs to be finished so I can look for a 100-4
