My last ride in my old Spitfire. Waterford Hills, Mi., Oct. 9th, 2004.
The new owner is happy, but the guy in the GT5 Mini behind me isn't! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Thanks to John Gacioch for the photo.

Good job you didn't crash Jeff (or the new owner will be as unhappy as the Mini driver).

This weekend (Oct 23), I'll be running a 3-hour enduro at Watkins Glen.....you may recall my last unfortunate debacle at the Glen.
Picture below was taken during practice last month at Pocono (the MR-2 eventually spun: I got it all on tape).

The new owner of Jeff's old Spit did brilliantly in his first race weekend in the car. The Wednesday before he was running 1:18's, first time out - which is a really good time. He repeated it at the weekend and put the car second on the false grid twice, he was very happy and was looking forward to doing some work on the car over the winter and getting ready to run the full season next year. I was very happy to see the old girl back out.

Well Jeff, time to get back into the bugeye. Did you remeber to give the new owner of your spit the forum's address?

Nial, as I've mentioned before, "Soft walls.....aren't."
If you don't smack them, no problem. ( voice of experience here.)
Bre...oops, I mean RG, Rich was actually doing 1:17.3's, which is even better, considering it was his first time out in the car.
Walter, I think the Bugeye is going to be a car that will be relegated to one used at "Open Track Days." I've taken all the good stuff and transferred it to the "new" '62. It's still the same car, just a different shape. And, of course I mentioned the BCF to him. But, he was so geeked at the time, I don't know if it registered.
I have to admit one thing though. For those that don't believe that there is any athleticism involved in driving a race car, think again. I had been out of the cockpit for awhile, and during the last couple of laps, I found that I was breathing like a pilot pulling 9 G's
