One Day,Two Cars,& Three Shows

Took the Miata to Roanoke Cars & Coffee,& the GT to the Back Creek Fire Department
show,& then drove the GT down to Bassett,VA (where they made Bassett Furniture).
I didn't get any pictures at the cars & coffee,as I talked to other Miata owners about
getting parts that I need.The Back Creek show was fairly small,but nice.Almost all American cars.
The Bassett show was big (377 vehicles),& almost no imports.Weather was nice,& I was
disappointed not to see anyone I knew.

Around here Shell gold is $1.99 a litre (4 litres to a gallon) and they just added etanol.

Around here they have been slowly getting rid of the ethanol at more gas stations.

I filled up Friday and it was $2.89. Without ethanol was $3.09.

Our QT stations here offer ethanol-free at most locations - it was $4.29 a gallon this morning when I rode past. I buy it to run in lawnmowers and other equipment that may have a long downtime between uses. If I ever get my MGB running it will probably also get it, depending on how much actual driving of it I get to do.

Only issue with non-ethanol fuel is the low octane. Fine for lawn & garden engines, not so for higher compression ones.

The stuff at the QT is labelled 90 octane - are there different measurement methods based on formulation???
