Flew back from CA to Albuquerque this afternoon following a work-related trip. The descent and approach was one of the bumpiest i've experienced. One of those white knuckle approaches. Just as we were about to cross the threshold I was thinking "thanks goodness, were almost on the ground." But no such luck. Just about at the threshold, the Capt. gave it full power and we did a go-around. A minute later, the Capt comes on the intercom to apologize, stating that the tower had waved them off due to another aircraft occupying the runway. Whew! After another 10 minutes in a very bumpy right-hand pattern, we finally did land (hard).

It was one of those times I felt like kissing the ground (and I fly a lot).

Good to be home!

Better to be waved off and spend another10 minutes bumping around the circuit that proving two objects can't occupy the same space at the same time..
 
I hate lumpy air.
 
Flew into Oshkosh Sat. Talk about same air space they direct you to a colored dot on the runway and you better hit it and keep rolling to the space they want you or you get mowed over. What an experience. Three plans hitting the same runway at the same time it was amazing glad I was in the right seat. Orange Dot!
