Told this is a "Christmas Cactus". Blooms once a year. In a pot on our front porch.

Not sure. The thing has gone full-blown goofy now, Bloomin' its arse off. Waiting for a bit more sunlight before I get another image. My layman's guess is due to the shortened daylight times it just "knows" it should start blooming. Will bring it indoors over the next few days due to likely freezing temps.

Our Aloe Candelabra has been blooming since mid November.
It has about 30 blooms or more with each one about a foot long and hundreds of flowers.
Ruby Throated Hummingbirds are nuts for them.

Post some Hummingbird photos!!! We just don't see those around here. Wish we did!

They are extremely elusive and I'm not that good with a camera.
An entire visit lasts less than 5 seconds.

Well this IS a photo group, y'know...

I'll try my best but it may take a break in the weather and lots of luck.

From a couple years ago. Need to get out again and shoot more of these guys. I put several images together for a slide show.
