We are just about done on the restoration of our BJ8. Another month and it will be drivable. I had planned to sell my 59 100-6 at that time. With all the values popping up at the auctions, where are the resonable price charts?

100-6 3000 engine, disc brakes, full restore and paint 7 years ago. Restored Hardtop too.

BJ8 almost

Unfortunately, cars with miles on them will fetch far less than those we see at the auctions. Those are all brand new restorations. Your best bet is to see what the cars on Ebay, Hemmings, Classic car trader etc. are asking.

I agree with the pricing on the original vs modified, but my modifications were due to a failed original engine that someone had damaged too many parts and the disc brakes were a safety issue for me. I used the car for almost 9000 miles and had good fun in the club rallies, car shows and the national meets. I don't expect the auction prices, I really don't know how to price it except for the Ebay way.
As they say, it will be worth what someone will pay for!

1975 Hemminings Motor News that you got out of your neighbors garbage can.

I found the NADA price chart and they have Austin Healeys. Interesting, they list the hardtop as an option that adds $2500 to the car.

PRICING

Original MSRP: $3,087 Low Retail Average Retail Value High Retail
Base Price $19,800 $31,750 $57,100

Factory Hardtop BN4 $1,500 $2,500 $3,500
TOTAL PRICE $21,300 $34,250 $60,600

I have not seen too many BN4 go for $60K. Ebay has one listed for $28 that needs a lot of work. AH, the eye of the beholder!
