Sam you'r not by any chance selling a 500+whp turbo S2000 I saw are you?

No...I've never owned an S2000. Fun little cars, though.

500+ RWHP doesn't sound feasible. I know that most large modifications can only eek another 25 or so HP. I'd imagine someone threw a 50-shot of nitrous, but the engine (and tranny) can't cope with that much.

Let's see, the stock Honda put's out a MFG'er rated 240bhp at the crank. So we're talking about a possible triple in horsepower. N/A or forced induction? I'd also have conserns over drivetrain reliability with that guestimate.

Possible, but not probable. If'n it does put that out, I know a guy locally (that runs a dyno shop) that'd give a dollar per rear wheel hp for any 4-cylinder street driven honda that can do 500+ hp at the driving wheels 3 times in a row. He's had this bet going for along time (and eventually he'll lose), but he's still got his money so far. Oh, and if you lose, you pay for the 3 Dyno runs.

He claims 610HP, but the dyno sheet says 510 (and doesn't have any other relavent info wether it's WHP, or estimated BHP, or corrected in some way). And that car wouldn't be driveable on the street (or with pump gas) with 25lbs of boost on it. 400hp @ 12 lbs sounds like its streetable though, and the upper limits of what you'd get without running race gas.

I've seen that car before in magazines. Put together pretty well. If they haven't worn it out, it's worth the asking price.

I work with a guy who's running a Vortec blower on his S2000 and some other mods. He's got 340 at the wheels. So far only problem has been the rear, he literally blew the stock one up, went off like a hand grenade and shattered the housing. Now he's got an aftermarket rear and it's a happy little camper. The car runs beautiful, very balanced and very quick. We're trying to set up a run between him and my buddy thats got the 97 Supra, he's putting down about 425 at the wheels, somewhere in there. He's got the power but the Hondas pulling alot less weight, so it should be a decent race.

Yeah, that should be a pretty close match. And the hp numbers on both those cars sounds very streetable and easy to drive, and reliable.

From what I understand, the Supras are easy to mod to get insane horsepower. I've heard of 900hp Supras running insane boost. 300Zs also are great platforms for great hp gains.

I love that Supra, the car is an absolute giant killer and a blast to drive. We're planning on a trip down to NC sometime soon, my other buddy has a 96 Viper and we've been talking about lining those two up for ages. The guys in my friends club are running some insane numbers. I'd say the average is about 500 horse at the wheels, on basically the stock bottom end. Thats the great thing about that Toyota motor, it's so friggin over-engineered that it can take massive power increases and still keep right on tickin. Most of those guys running 500 horse have been doing so reliably for thousands of miles.

Some of the really serious guys in his club are putting down the crazy numbers as you've mentioned. I've got a vid of a guy from long island throwing down 820 at the wheels, I thought that car was gonna break the straps. Most of those cars have replaced the twin turbo setup with a big whopper single turbo. You loose the low end responsiveness and get a whole mess of lag but when that 30 or 32 lbs of boost comes on you better hold on to your a$$.

Problem with the 300ZX was fuel delivery. Unlike the Supra, whose fuel system could probably keep up until somewhere around 450 horse, the Z's system gets maxed out much quicker and you need to go to bigger injectors at much lower power levels. Also, from what I've been told that motor also runs out of breath at a much lower rpm than the Supra. Still a way nice car though with lots of power building potential. However I think you can get more power for less money out of a Supra.

You can add MR2s to that list (750hp+) and RX7s. In fact just about anything japanese and sporty can be made insane...
