This morning I went to one of the local recyclers to check on an MGB someone had scrapped...they did..and I bought it. Complete but rusty, beat and neglected. I'll strip it and return the shell to where I found it...all for $75. Anyhow, went next door to an auto salvage place run by good freinds and after about 15 minutes the owner came towing in a near pristine 1968 Olds. 98. HUGE...455ci, auto and power everything. Straight, never wrecked and of course not a speck of rust. One owner..90ish man, said his retired son had come from Az. to move him out there. Car had to go so off to the yard. Battery was low so we jumped it and everything including the ice cold a/c works. Med blue paint, matching vinyl top and blue brocade interior you could eat off of. New tires, muffler, perfect glass. Yep..its mine and omly $800. &&k original miles, original bias ply tire in trunk and still aired up. Wife isn't mad...justlaughing every time she looks at me...OH....and it had a full tank of gas.

Great snag, Jack!

My grandmother bought a brand new '67 - color was taupe with a matching interior. Gorgeous car!

Jack,

A tank of gas is worth about 1/2 of what you
paid for it!
Are you starting a used car lot?Maybe you need
to get a dealer's license.

I'm just a sucker when it comes to cars...not just LBCs....any car. While I was the first to spot it arriving, and being the salvage lot owner is a close freind...this old boat drew alot of attention. One guy was from Mexico(old Mexico) and was about to have the big one...crawling all over it, saying how it would be a big hit back home. I think he was measuring it to see how many aprtments he could make out of it. I finally had to tell him it was mine...not a happy camper.

The rain has finally let up and if the yard isn't under water, I'll go get it today and get some "before" pics. Already have a few loose offers, but will probaly do it up and list it on a few sites.

Heres a pic of the beast. Cleaned it up a bit a posted it on Craigslist here in the state. Guy from Az. has contacted me...we'll see.
