Older engine analyzers

Anybody out there got an older engine scope/analyzer such as a Marquette 40-175? I think these were made in the late '70s.

I have one and need some tips on using it with a Mallory Unilite ignition distributor in a +8 Morgan. In particular, I don't get a reliable trigger to show the ignition parade pattern. It may or may not be related to the Unilite ignition.
