Former COMCAM photog Stacy Pearsall is involved. What was started in the early '70's has grown into programs like this. IMHO it's a great way of prepping these young folks for the job. And likely some successful careers.

I'm really encouraged that this is going on. My official AFSC was defined in words as: "Aerial Combat Documentation Photographer". Lofty and lengthy. COMCAM now is so much more in substance and so much less in title. Those kids are getting benefit of folks who've "BTDT".

Ran into some currently serving folks a while back at an "Appreciation Dinner" for their service, a Colonel asked me what I'd done as my work back in the day. I wear my aircrew wings and the POW/MIA crossed with the American flag on my lapel. Told him I was a photog on aircrew status during Vietnam. He announced to all in the area: "He was COMCAM!" Humbling. My only reply was that I did what I knew how to do, it was my job and I enjoyed it. He'd seen what those who'd followed us did, what it meant from the intel to the action. COMCAM troops are embedded with any and all the USAF is involved in, from FAC on the floor to air combat. My hat is off to all who do the job.
