This is kind of interesting.

Matt Gross, a NY Times correspondent, is touring the USA in an old Volvo he bought on craigslist.

You can follow his adventure ~HERE~.

He is looking for advise as he makes his way South (his itinerary is partly based on e-mails from readers).
If any of you have any suggestions on "places to see", write him a note. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

He should 'see' me! I have an entire car here for replacement bits. It'd go CHEAP. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I agree, not that old.....but then I recently met a guy who is racing his "vintage" Ford Probe...... I am getting old! LoL I must say though that I DID get my Traveller from Craigslist here in Chicago....I feel like I found the proverbial needle in the haystack.... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Is a 20-something-year-old car old? Maybe so when comparing it to a brand new model. But it is NOT what I (or any sane car person) would consider vintage.

To me, a car becomes vintage when it shares more with the truly "old" cars than it does with new ones. That Volvo is not far removed from the latest model in styling or driving experience. The new ones are simply more refined.
