Hi there I'm Dave and I reside in VA. I own a TR4 that has been in my family longer than I have, my father bought it when he joined the Navy. I inherited it many years ago and couldn't bear to sell it when my wife asked me if we are ever going to do anything with it. I have been working professionally on cars for over 25yrs and I always thought it would be a quick turn around like fresh fuel and an oil change to get in running shape, but this was simply not so. There is the typical wear and tear, the deterioration of rubber and the creative repairs of long ago like nails used for cotter pins among many other issues. Working on it today brings back the memories of when I would help my father and his friends when they would work on and sometimes solve an issue that I had little knowledge of as I was very young.
At this time I am performing a mechanical restoration to be able to drive and enjoy this little car, so I'll see you on the forum if not on the road!
