Old smoothcase transmission...what to do with it?

So as most of your probably know, my restored BE was back on the road about a year ago. I now have it like I want it, 1275, mild cam, Datsun 5-speed, VTO wheels, etc. I will keep all the ribcase tranmission parts in case a future owner wants to convert it back. But what about the smoothcase in the garage, which I have no idea its condition? In twenty years will BE owners want their car original, with a 948 and a smoothcase, with 11/8" SUs? Sort of like the big Healey group, or MG-TC.
The value of the transmission is probably next to nothing, very difficult to rebuild, but it can be stuffed with ribcase internals (not that I know how). What do you think, keep it or dump it?

Give or pitch.

I'd say keep it. I still have the original 948 and smoothcase that came with my Bugeye in storage. Small enough to keep around, and a future owner may thank you for preserving it.
