This is not an ad!! Just want to make that clear! I have an old Sears Guitar and amplifier I bought back in 1962/63 ? Are they worth anything? The guitar is a 1420 and the amp is a 1481.

Not mine but the same look,

Now you tell me... :wall: Check ebay completed listings. I dig it, how's it sound? What about the neck and frets, any warping or wear?

Speaking of Sears guitars, I used to keep the Christmas wish book dog eared on the page of some Les Paul looking POC that had a speaker built into it. While I never did get that thing for Christmas, I'd had onto that dumb book and fondle it lovingly all year long. Apparently I wasn't the only to do that as Kelly told me she did the same thing. You couldn't throw the old one out until the new one came in.....even though I had the *entire* book memorized. I still do that to some extent as I can't tell you how many times I went to GCs catalog since I ordered the strat. Should be any minute now. I'm kinda glad I never got that "Less" Paul, that thing had to sound terrible with a speaker built into it.

Surprisingly the guitar and amp still work after being in storage for years. Old tube amp so it takes a little less than 30 seconds to warm up. Everything seems to be in order, but it needs new strings due to some slight rusting. The neck doesn't seem to be warped, probably because it's been in a dry atmosphere all it's life, even though I haven't put a straight edge on it to make sure. Thanks for the info! PJ

Yeah but being under tension for longer than I've been alive doesn't help. It's supposed to have some bow to it so don't freak out if you see some. Steve will be better able to help you in that area.
