After havin' 'er fer near twenty yearn, an' ownin' B's since 1969, I can't pull the facia details outta me arse (or me pea brane). So here's th' quiery:

Was the piping across the top of the euphemistically defined "crash pad" on the pull-handle cars black or white/red?

SWMBO's (She Who Must Be Obeyed) B is inna garage undergoin' a cosmetic refurb, and I can't find good info as to the piping (beading, for the Colonists) at issue.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome aboard doc.

SWMBO! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I love it.

Conservation of Energy... I'm opposed.

Ahh, you did know. I thought maybe your username meant something else.

First law is that energy can't be created or destroyed, but only its form changed. You're opposed to conservation of energy or the theory it can't be created or destroyed?

SWMBO. I crack up every time I see that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I've held the opinion for years: EnTRoPy WINS!!!

heh... Herself will be pleased you've noted it.

Noticed? NOTICED?

Doc, this is what I think...

Entropy-When my B runs out of gas, she will not will not run again until I walk 10 miles to a gas station and refuel her.

More I think about it, Entropy is a measure of the degree of randomness or disorder. Maybe that should be MY username.

ummm... "The amount of energy in a system available NOT to do work" would be the preferred definition.

The title was bestowed upon me yearn ago by me Old Fella... "All yer doin' is forestallin' the inevitable. Go out an' get a REAL car or I'll start callin' ya the doctor of entropy."

Been pushin' back at it for decades now. Also have a bit of bother with "authority." ;-}

Black beading or red white beading that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in your car to suffer the slings and arrows of outraged purist, or to do as you so please, and by opposind end them? To enjoy; to drive....

You did list your location as Elsinore, and so, yes the rotten thing might be my prose.

heh... hardly rotten prose. And: I'm not much of a purist about this B. It'll be a "driver" when its' feet hit the ground, not some 'Object D'art' to be sat on a pillow and admired from afar... that's a mug's game IMHO.

As you stated: To enjoy; to drive...!!

Purists be darn-ed.

It can be original spec and still be a driver. My '65 is completely stock other than taller wheels and poly bushings. It has 311,000 wonderful miles on it.

Understood. This'n will get poly's, has already had an engine rebuild/boost with Crane cam, porting and cc'ing, Weber conversion (one 40mm DCOE). Plenty of good tweaks yet to do.

I suspect it to have an equally impressive number of miles onna clock. We are responsible for only a third of 'em, tho we've had it since '89 and I commuted 100 mi. daily in her for a few years. When finished I expect it to be as close *in appearance* as anything out of Abingdon of its' time, with the exception of headrests/seats from a '72 dressed in earlier style skins... and mebbe a (removable) guage and switch console to replace the original speaker housing/grille. Time, available funds and energy level will decide.

My first B was an early '66 (acquired in '69) and did a quarter mil before PA road salt finally (after a decade and three "ressurections") took it from us. My feeble mind recalls a white piping across the dash on it, and so the quiery.
