Spoke today with a cousin who lives on the West Bank in Plaquemines Parrish....he's planning on waiting until Sunday or Monday morning to head out to son's in Hammond, LA...said plans were to turn all the highways to northbound about that time.

Grand Isle, lower Jefferson Parrish, Belle Chase & those lower areas are already under mandatory evacuation...nothing out yet about Plaquemines Parrish - he was fine back in Katrina but expects it to hit him harder this time.

I was just watching the Governor there discussing the plans. It sounds like he has a pretty good handle on things - lets hope people follow the procedures. Better yet, lets hop the brunt of the storm misses NO all together.

They are talking them out in Trains buses and anything that holds 10+.....but Basil it is coming here & at 20 muilse inland I 'm pretty sure I'll be owning beach front property,,,,,,of course we must stay-too many responsibilities & darn it Maggie was 2 weeks from being completely redone & she is tem miles more south than me- we are Vermilion Parish wich has a bay. If it comes in & up the Bay I'm screwed and tatooed- Sending Zack to Monroe North La & all I can say is after owning Maggie for 42 years & FINALLY completely renovating her.......If she becomes the YELLOW SUBMARINE I will sit on my roof & drink tequilla till it blows me off or I have to swim.........Randi
