oil pressure sending line

Has anyone replaced the plastic line that runs from the engine block to the oil gauge with anything more substantial?

I haven't replaced it yet, but I intend to use a copper or steel line. I figure I use plastic at each end to attach the line to the block and gauge.
We had a pack rat under the bonnet that chewed through the line. The line was repaired with a small vice grip, and the rat is in rat heaven or maybe heck for the damage done to the TR6. T.T.

I seem to recall someone posting the use of a small brass line with fittings at each end making for a solid plumbing job.

I replaced the plastic tube on mine when I re-did my dash & gauges.
I'm not having any issues with it so far, (knock wood) seems to be a fairly accurate reading on my gauge.

I just did mine with the plastic line kit from Nisonger which is exactly the same as the kit from TRF.

The only difference is that it cost more.

Don't forget to get a new leather washer that fits on the back of the gauge.
