TR2/3/3A oil pressure line venting?

Hi Folks. Not sure how exactly to put this. Does the line to the oil pressure gauge need to be vented somehow to get the air out of the line or does the air in the line just go away somewhere. New build..engine never been started. Thanks

I wondered about that too after i replaced a camshaft. I don’t know if there’s a vent, but as soon as the engine started, the gauge registered oil pressure. If you crank the engine while the line is still disconnected to make sure the pump is working, use LOTS of towels. It wasn’t a dribble.

Same as my experience, no need to bleed that line.

It is reading pressure, so there is no need to bleed it. The big bubble just compresses as the pressure goes up and expands as it goes back down. Either way, the air provides pressure to the gage just like the oil would.
