I did a lot of dash work, seen in other post, I took all gauges out and reinstalled, now the oil pressure gauge will only go up to 25 psi, as opposed to 75 before the dash rebuild and the last drive, will air in the line cause a low reading?

No, air in the line won't cause a low reading. Pressure is pressure. If there is air in the line, the air will compress but the pressure still indicate correctly.

I'm not sure what causes a low reading besides a bad gauge or actual low pressure.

not being sure why the oil pressure was very good on the last drive 75 psi and now after pulling all the gauges out to reveneer the dash it will only register 25 psi at idle and reving up the engine, I decided to pull the oil pan off, the gasket needed replacing anyway. So off with the pan and checked the thrust washer end float, measured .012 so I pulled the no 4 bearing cap and got the thrust washers out. Boy were they scared up. I intalled new STd washers and measured end float, .006, with in spec. I took the strainer off the oil pump and found a coter pin, not good, and some silicon gasket material. Put the oil pan back on, new oil, started it up and still only 25 psi. Not sure whats going on, I guess I need to get a gauge and hook it up to the oil line comming out of the block and see what the pressure is, could something be blocking the plastic line????

pull the gauge out and just open it up to make sure something didn't get knock around while the redo was in progress.

thats the best Idea yet, I think I will also get a cheap oil pressure gauge hook it up and see what it reads to be sure

Well I purchased an oil gauge at lunch, and I am going to hook it up to the engine and see what psi I get, I hope its the gauge in the car thats hung up
