Oil leak in 70B - somewhere around Distributor?

Yesterday the lovely better half took the B out for a short run and when she got back I noticed oil pooling under the car.
I popped the hood and saw an oily mess around the area where the distributor mounts.
The pressure sending unit is also right around there, and there is a tube running from it down to attach - I figured I'd let it cool off and then look again today.
Could it just be that tube is damaged or loose?

On a side note, do they ever take a look at the gauges?
I had to ask her if she even knew what an oil pressure gauge was...

That didn't raise my popularity rating for the evening. :nonono:

Its probably a simple fix once you get it clean and fire it up. There are 2 oil galley plugs under the distributor. A local fellow just had his engine built at a machine shop and after a few hundred miles one blew out! That is the only time i have ever seen one fail. You probably just have a bad line to the guage. Hey Rick
It's probably where that line screws into the block or thening the sending unit. Concerning your side note:
Took the '70 Gt out about 2 weeks ago for a 70 mile round trip ride. She's driving as always but we get to the top of the block and I say "oil pressured seems just a bit on the low sidez",hmmn, idle at about 50psi usually is more like 60. So we are driving the expressway and prissure is staying around 50 sometimes up to 60psi but seemed strange. We stop and I check everything thinking it may be the dip stick out of it's hole or something, everything looks perfect. Get back on the road and head back home. Now oil pressure is 60psi, still low, usually runs at 70. We are just about to get off at our exit and I look over and the gague is at freakin ZERO !!! Note I said "I" me not the driver! Scared the S**t out of me. Immediatly shut her down and coast over to the side. Get out shaking expecting to find some sort of diaster under the hood, all looks perfect, oil level perfect. Let it sid a few mins and have her start it to listen, sounds ok, she says pressure is back up. Jump back in and take it the rest of the way real easy, got her home and in good shape. Whew
Oil pressure sending unit went nuts, replaced now all is better.
She couldn't understand why I freaked out?????????
I say why am I looking at the gagues more than you????
Geeze, these are the times that I really miss being able to drive my cars.
How was the fishin?
Mike

Thanks Mike, good to hear I'm not the only one...

The fishin' was fantastic!!!
Only 9 more months until next years trip!
My plane ticket is already bought.

My dad surprised us by coming up at the same time, so there was myself, my son and him. We all had a great time, caught a lotta salmon & halibut and had a lot of fun!
