TR2/3/3A Oil from Breather

Took the car for a short ride and when I returned noticed a trickle of oil coming from the breather. I don't know the cause or significance of this but I know from past experience with motorcycles, oil from the breather indicated a broken piston ring, but we're talking a lot of oil. Crankcase pressure is not the same as oil pressure so I'm not sure what is going on. Any advice appreciated.

Not to worry about unless it becomes excessive. Excessive would be a rapid drop in oil quantity, like more than a quart in 500 miles.
