i have been told that on the 1500cc engine the oil filter may be changed with out draining the sump.... has anyone every tried this?

why would want to change the filter without changing the oil

i aquired the car 3 months ago and the previous owner changed the oil with out changing the filter and the filter has a nice big dent in it (how it got there i dont know) anyway the oil is clean and i would like to replace the filter

So, do so. Not a bigee. Just take it off and replace.

Golden12 - Just remove and replace the oil filter. Wipe some oil around the gasket on the new oil filter prior to installation. Run the engine and then check the oil level. Top off as required.
