Oil Cooler question

When did they stop equipping MGBs with oil coolers from the factory? Was it 1975?

I am not sure of the date, but I believe when they went to rubber bumpers they became extinct. Just my hazy memory working tho'

You are probably right Steve. I recall seeing several B's with the pipe on the block where the cooler connections are on my car.

Yup, optional. There was a "by-pass" hose fitted as standard. Linked the two fittings. There's one in on-board spares when on road trips.

It must have been a cheap option. All three of my GT's ahve it. The '67, '73 & '74.

Probably one of those 'options' that came standard in the US. I have never seen a 63-74 MGB without one. Somewhere I have the window sticker for my 74GT. If I find it I will see how the oil cooler is listed.

Mine came without one. Sometimes they were put on at Royston, sometimes at the dealer.
