Anyone come across this? When the engines running, the oil pressure is good, yet there's oil coming up the dipstick. I've consulted a few mechanics who've had TR6s, but as yet, none of them have a clue.
Well it sounds like pressure building up in the crankcase which could be excessive blow-by or just a blockage in the dingus that normally allows the crankcase to ventilate. That would be a PCV valve on a 'modern' car, don't know how the TR6 accomplishes this.
Your car should have some form of positive crankcase ventilation (PCV).
On occasion, I've seen these plugged up (when folks remove emission control stuff).
Be sure the PCV system is hooked up and working.
Even my race car has a PCV system (otherwise, it pumps oil out the dip stick....just as your car is doing).
Of course, if you have heavy blow-by caused by bad piston rings, this can only be fixing by rebuiding the engine.
I don't own a TR6 but I'll put in my two cents. I believe you should have a hose fitting on the valve cover. On most older cars this is the connection for PCV. There is usually a small filter on the inside of the valve cover that keeps oil from flowing into this connection. These filters are very porous, but can get gunked up with sludge if the oil went without changing at some point. If everything else is hooked up and looks good, I'd suspect this filter may be clogged. I'd eliminate everything else before opening up the engine since you may find you need to rebuild.

regarding the filter, I don't think the TR6s had one inside the valve cover. Mine doesn't, only a baffle and it runs without problem. However, my car has had many things wrong with it that were done sometime in its past, so I can't be sure.
You are sure there is no water in the bottom of the oil sump. Oil will float on the water and not emulsifiy into milky sludge. I have seen this on an 2.8L chevy.
Don't overlook the obvious, there is a small felt seal on the stick that will wear out/ get lost. it will not stop excessive crankcase pressure from escaping but if its gone, everyday pressures will make quite a mess!!!!
