Here's a challenging, but fun, driving event to benefit a worthy charity, The Diabetes Association of Greater Cleveland's youth camp, Camp Ho Mita Koda. The 2006 America's British Reliability Run, an all-British driving event scheduled for October 14-15, 2006. The run is an 700-mile run in 30 hours through Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia, with a goal of raising $500 per crew to help provide financial 'camperships' to underprivleged kids coping with diabetes to an educational summer camp.

The event is open to any British marque vehicle. Up to 50 British cars may participate in this, the fouth annual, run. Even if you can't participate in the run, please support our effort by by making a donation of any size. Teams pay their own expenses, so 100% of your donation goes to the charity. An excellent web site full of information on the event is at https://www.abrr.org . Please check it out and register your car or make a donation today.

Sounds like a great event, Blake. Thanks for posting this.

Hey - how about the Forum sponsoring one of our own to do the run? I imagine one of us may be doing this anyway. We can all pledge an amount - per mile, or total, or whatever - to one from the Forum. Should be able to make a pretty good donation if we pool the resources. Whaddaya think?

Hi Dale, thanks for the heads up on the URL error. Also, thanks for helping the charity by pledging to one of the teams making the run. So far there are MGs, Triumphs, a Jag, a TVR, and a Mini registered. I'd love to get a few Healeys in as well. Last year Jean Jennings, editor of Automobile Magazine, drove an AH3000 in the run and had a blast. We were set to get an Aston Martin this year, but the owner won't take delivery until after the run. Bummer!

Cheers,
Blake Discher
