Oh Tony... YB on eBay

Thanks, Steve...am watching it & have asked them about shipping though they've stated they'll only help with local delivery....

What concerns me is the 5% that's not there! I don't see headlights or bumpers, for example.

ÂŁ800.00 equals, what, $1650.00?

Wonder what it would cost to ship to the US. For $1650 it still seems affordable even if you have to find the 5%. Are these parts that rare? Do they chare many parts with other types?

The running gear is mostly TD. Parts are plentiful. Whatever isn't there can be bought, and if it's that rare, you can buy a reproduction. Headlamps are not a problem, nor are bumpers. I would order whatever is missing from NTG and have them put int he car before shipping.

Steve makes a very compelling argument......those parts that are missing are all available in the UK, and since the car is coming from there you will get free shipping of the parts.......as Steve says, they just throw 'em in the car before it's crated!

Let's see what they say about shipping & what's missing...I may even have a friend in the UK who could help.

STOP yer killing me!!! wonder if they can fit it in a FED EX Large box!!!..I'm gonna have to close my ebay account it's like an addiction!!

BTW: that MORRIS Z went for $5k and I know shipping from NZ was about $2400..GOOD LUCK..

Plus, some of the rarer, older cars are so rare that parts aren't available within the realm of everyday collectors budgets making their restoration more expensive but not driving their values up.

As an example, an MG YT Tourer which is probably the rarest of all WWII MG's is less valuable than TC's, TD's or TF's.

Just, my developing opinion..

Now who was that pumpkin?????

How wise you are, young Jedi Hopeful!

& I need to be reminded of that occassionally - however, a YB Saloon........but, I will keep that sage advise in mind when I figure the total package (cost of car + shipping)...but, this is 'want' versus 'need' - maybe not this particular car but a YB Saloon!

A YB isn't the kind of car you buy as an investment. It will never be worth a lot of money, relatively speaking. You buy a Y-Type because you like it. If you plan to sell it again, don't bother buying one in the first place. Same goes for the YT. Not only is it not worth much, the styling isn't to most people's liking. Yes, that's as polite as I can possibly put it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
