It comes down to this

Norwich VMI
Cost $39,890 $35,950
Scholarships 34,679 17,870

My son really wants to go to VMI (I really want him to go to Norwich but refuse to tell him that though). He is really weighing the savings of going to Norwich which he likes or VMI where he loves. I think he made the decision of VMI but is wanting to see if something overcomes him and he decides he will go to with his wallet.

It is so hard to stay nuetral

I have given him the facts, answered the questions as he ask, sat with him and listened as he talks but I have tried to not unduly influence him. He wants VMI, I will figure out how to cover the difference. He is a great young man, he needs to make the decision and I will support him all the way

He is 18, seems just yesterday he was standing on a file box jumping up and down yelling out the window "dadn dadn" when I came home each day for lunch and at the end of the day. Wow, how did my life fly by so quick?

They grow up too fast. I imagine when he thinks about the money, even with the scholarships it's pretty intimidating. I know it would have been for me.
I mean you're in high school enjoying life and friends, learning how to get along with girls and then THIS comes along.

He really may want your advice and doesn't know how to ask. Unless you have always let him make all of his own decesions without your guidance, you should maybe chime in with an opinion.

He has decided I am pretty sure, he is a lot like me. He will not ask for advice but will ask for me to sit down with him and he will bounce ideas and questions off me.
