I broke it.

The cap to the dashpot. The plastic bit with the threads that hold the damper. The threaded part of the plastic broke off.

Ratzenfratzen.

~cries miserably~
On the new SUs that I just took out of the box.

maybe you better let Da Hubby handle them.....

(knows he will be sorry for that one)

Maybe you best bite my rumble seat Mark.

Dahubby hasn't even seen what I did to Emma yet. I'm figuring he'll see it tomorrow when everyone's over.

hehehe sorry JB.. couldnt resist, but do tell how it broke, did you drop it ?

mark

Mark you're just not racking up any points today!

I didn't drop it. I unscrewed the cap. Screwed it back on, unscrewed it again when dahubby asked me about the dampers. Cap came off, threads & damper stayed in the dash pot.

This is just about all I can stand.

I'm throwing myself off the Arch. Nice knowing you guys.

Sounds like it was defective or abused in a past life. Just buy a new one and replace the other while you're at it. They should last another 30 years. Or buy the brass ones and they will last 350 years.

sounds like you didnt break it, it was already broken.

Sounds like it was put back on at the builder with a broken place...I've got lost of extras...want me to throw one in Binabox's box?

oh, just finger tight, Jnel - not real tight!

No. I'm pretty certain I broke it. It worked fine first time I took it off and put it back on.

I'm going to try to scrounge one up from the guys at the car club meeting Monday night. Someone has to have one laying around.

If not, just let me know & I'll throw one in the box

The damper will go right into a new cap, right?

I'm talking about the entire part that screws into the dashpot, Janel....not worth trying to put a new cap on an old damper

It's new - new damper, broken cap.

I've never tried to separate them...but if its new, it should be under warranty....call your carb guy.

You can fit the damper into a new cap, I'm sure of it. Warranty shmarranty. I'm not waiting on another order from Moss. I'll beg one off the guys at the club meeting.
