I extended the Legacy lease for six months in May. It's up now. Buyout price is about $13 thou including 6.35% sales tax. On the lot, this car is selling for over $20 thou so I'd be a fool not to buy it. Leasing a new one is over my budget plus delivery is a problem. My daughter has been waiting for about 2 months for a new Forester. It's back to 1946 for car dealers. Getting over the MSRP in most cases.

1946 - less bling, new transmissions, and the marques didn't all look alike.
I've been leasing (Nissan Altima's, 3-yr term) for the last ten years or so. The convenience of the local dealer for scheduled maintenance, for "trading in", and 100% warranty, has me addicted.

Probably a good thing -- you trade the Altima before the CVT transmission goes fubar. I just had this happen on our 2015 Altima with 82,000 miles while taking our daughter back to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It made the trip interesting, to say the least. I was able to nurse the Altima back home and limp it over to the dealer.
I will hand it to Nissan, though, they replaced the transmission sub-assembly (which consists of the two pulleys that actually make up the CVT) under warranty, even though I bought the car used. Copay of $50 was all I had to come up with. Of course, the dealer indicated I needed new rear brakes and it was time to change the spark plugs, so I ended up coughing up more money than I wanted, but I figured the car was there anyway. The simplicity and the relatively low cost of upkeep on the Sprite pretty much gives me sticker shock when I deal with modern vehicles.
